TESTING GUIDE FOR THE GED CANDIDATE
Congratulations! Registration for the GED Exam is a milestone in your life. The following information is provided to familiarize you with testing procedures, and to help reduce the normal stress associated with test taking. These rules have been developed by the GED Testing Service to benefit all test candidates.
Be familiar with the location of your test center; signs on the front of the building will direct you to the testing room. Test site addresses are as follows:
Stuart Community High School (Training Room)--1050 S.E. Tenth Street, Stuart, FL
Indiantown Adult Learning Center – 15255 SW Jackson Ave., Indiantown, FL
- Arrive a minimum of 15 minutes before the test is scheduled to begin. Once testing has begun, no one will be admitted into the testing room
- A Photo ID —Driver’s licenses (from any state), valid passports, military IDs, or other forms of government issued (national or foreign) identification that show name, address, date of birth, signature, and photograph are all acceptable forms of identification, unless there is any reason to question their authenticity.
- Student ID is unacceptable. If you are testing over a period of days, you must bring your ID to every session
- Smoking is not allowed on campus
- Eating and drinking are not allowed during the test
- Cell phones and pagers must be turned off and will be collected during testing; any violation will result in expulsion from GED testing and invalidation of GED testing scores.
- Head sets and electronic devices are not allowed
- Testers are not allowed to use their own pencils, pens, scratch paper or bring any reading materials into the test
- Talking/interacting with other test candidates during the test will result in the disqualification of your exam
- Do not write in the test booklets or on the test packet envelope—Replacement of marked test booklets will cost the student $200.00—the GED Diploma will not be issued until this fee is paid in full
- Testers must remain seated quietly for the duration of each test section. Breaks are allowed only after the full time of the test section and all testers have been given permission to leave by the examiner
- Be familiar with the use of the GED authorized calculator
- Testing rooms are air-conditioned – to ensure your comfort, you may wish to bring a sweater or light jacket
- No refunds if you miss or must reschedule your test date
- Removal of a test booklet or recording of test questions in any form is a felony offense and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Failure to comply with these standards may result in the disqualification of your GED Test, and restriction from any future GED testing sponsored by the Martin County School District.
