Responsibilities of the Public Information/Community Relations Office include, but are not limited to:

  • Handling requests from the media
  • Handling public records/information requests from citizens, public agencies and private companies 
  • Producing School District publications, including a quarterly newsletter, Parent Guide, Welcome Packet, press releases, brochures and other informational items
  • Serving as a liaison between Martin County schools and the media by providing information about special school events, school/staff awards and stories of interest. 
  • Coordinating all District “Connect-Ed” calls and assisting schools with Connect-Ed calls as necessary
  • Coordinating special projects geared toward improving the School District’s communication with parents and the community. 
  • Assisting city/county agencies in updating their published information about the Martin County School District
  • Coordinating efforts with the Educational Technology department to maintain up-to-date and important information on the School District’s website
