Martin County School District 3rd thru 10th Grade NRT Scores Higher Than State and National Averages

May 17, 2007- Today the Florida Department of Education Released the Reading and Mathematics scores for the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test - Norm Reference Test (NRT). The results show the Martin County School District scored above state and national averages in each grade level tested. The Martin County School District also ranked among the top ten school districts in the state in each grade level for reading and math, based on mean scale scores.

NRT scores do not affect school and district FCAT grades from the state. The NRT scores are used to determine how students are performing compared to their peers nationwide. For example, Martin County 9th grade students received a National Percentile Rank of 81 in reading. This means the average Martin County 9th grade student had a score equal to or higher than 81 percent of the 9th grade students tested nationwide. Individual school results are available on the Florida Department of Education's website, www.fldoe.org.
